Transitive has partnered with IBM to develop PowerVM Lx86, which allows most Linux/x86 applications to run in a Linux/POWER virtual partition on IBM p Series enterprise servers. This innovative cross-platform virtualization solution is provided with every edition of IBM’s PowerVM server virtualization software, which is delivered as a standard feature of IBM System p enterprise servers.

In November 2008, IBM announced its plans to acquire Transitive.
